Global university is a latest concept to this world. We are used to seeing a large complex of huge buildings in some part of a major city with a large sign over the threshold is called “ UNIVERSITY”. We find that those buildings have classrooms, laboratories, and libraries housed in them. We see many students along with few educationally matured people sitting around as teachers, usually the teachers talking and students listening or writing, or doing things according to instructions they receive from the teachers. We recognize this system as a “University Campus”, where the select people of any particular nation are being trained for their leading roles in the development of that particular nation.
Now, just imagine that we spread this campus in such a manner that instead of thirty rooms in the “ One Building ” of any particular university campus, we have many rooms across the globe. The relationships system are the same in the scattered Global Campus as in any particular university campus of any nation. Instead of educating a few select in a given place, now a much larger group from all over the world are receiving the same education and are being trained for their leading roles nationally and internationally. This is the sum total of the GLOBAL UNIVERSITY. Also word ‘University' relates to word ‘Universe' which actually means
global.
With the invention of Television, Computers and Internet, whole world have squeezed to be a global village, consequently squeezing the role of formal university campus to small computer monitor where by a blink of eye students get more information and knowledge than provided by any teacher in many months at a formal university campus. Global universities also provide uniform curricula to the students of all nations to enable them to compete and think globally than nationally or just regionally. Global universities impart education through distance learning using latest methodologies & technologies and also through worldwide affiliated colleges.
Notwithstanding the VSPBU grants recognition to the meritorious students especially those emerging from downtrodden section the university is not within the purview of any regulators of the country. VSPBU, governed by an autonomous independent international body, strives for an egalitarian society in its truest spirit. The philanthropists among the founders of VSPBU grant scholarships and full tuition waver to the deserving candidates including women from lower strata of the society so as to alleviate all the deplorable inequalities prevailing in our milieu.
